Ifesinachi Transport Price List: Fares, Lagos and Eastern Terminals, Booking and IFEX Parcels (2026)

Ifesinachi Transport price list

In 1965 a young man from Enugu-Ezike was pushing goods by hand around Onitsha. James Mamah, nicknamed Ifesinachi, bought his first commercial truck in 1972, and the business that grew from it now sends buses from Jibowu and Maza-Maza to Enugu, Nsukka, Onitsha, Owerri, Aba and Abakaliki, with offices in Abuja, Kaduna and Ibadan too.

Unlike some rivals, Ifesinachi does not post a fare table on its website, so any Ifesinachi Transport price list is a set of ranges rather than fixed numbers. The figures below are approximate and move with petrol prices and the season. Confirm the fare at the terminal or with the company before you travel.

The Mamah Family Business Behind the Buses

Ifesinachi Transport belongs to a family group that also went into petroleum (IFEPET, founded in 1982), vegetable oil and courier services. By 2010 the transport arm was described as running more than 200 luxury buses and 50 Toyota Hiace buses, with over 3,500 workers.

The founder, who became the traditional ruler of Umuozzi in Enugu-Ezike and chaired the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, died in New York in June 2010. His son Emeka Mamah had already been managing director of Ifesinachi Industries since 1994. He is now group managing director of the transport company and president of the Luxury Bus Owners Association of Nigeria, and he has also served as an Enugu State commissioner.

The family’s roots explain the network. Ifesinachi Industries is based at Obollo-Afor, close to Enugu-Ezike, and nearby Nsukka also has its own office.

Ifesinachi Transport Price List: What a Seat Costs

These are approximate one-way adult fares on Ifesinachi’s main routes, based on fares reported at its counters and set against what rival eastern operators publish for the same roads.

RouteApproximate one-way fare
Lagos to Enugu, Nsukka or Obollo-Afor₦32,000 to ₦40,000
Lagos to Onitsha or Awka₦31,000 to ₦38,000
Lagos to Owerri, Aba or Abakaliki₦33,000 to ₦40,000
Lagos to Port Harcourt₦33,000 to ₦40,000
Abuja (Utako) to Enugu or Onitsha₦30,000 to ₦38,000
Enugu to Onitsha or Owerri₦8,000 to ₦12,000

For a benchmark, Peace Mass Transit’s own booking board shows Standard fares of about ₦37,000 to ₦41,500 between Lagos and the same eastern towns, so the two companies sit in a similar band. The Ifesinachi Lagos to Enugu seat, its most popular route, usually sits in the middle of the first row.

The bus you board affects where you land in each range, and so does the date. For Anambra, our Lagos to Onitsha bus price guide compares Ifesinachi with the other companies that load for Upper Iweka.

Treat this Ifesinachi Transport price list as a planning guide, then ask for the exact fare when you book. The counter price on your travel date is the one that counts.

What Rides on Ifesinachi Routes

Ifesinachi says its luxury buses offer free Wi-Fi and at-seat power outlets, and its website claims more than 1,000 vehicles. Treat Wi-Fi as a bonus rather than a promise; it depends on the bus and the signal along the road.

The company has a habit of trying new vehicles. In 2013 Emeka Mamah said Ifesinachi was the first to put the Nissan NV3500 van on Nigerian roads, an air-conditioned 11-seater with a belt on every seat, and that it had also added passenger jeeps. Ask at booking which vehicle runs your departure, because a coach seat, a van seat and a Hiace seat may not cost the same on the Ifesinachi Transport price list.

Ifesinachi runs morning departures from Lagos, and evening buses that drive through the night have been listed on some eastern routes. Confirm the time printed on your ticket.

Ifesinachi Terminals in Lagos

The company lists two Lagos offices with street addresses.

Jibowu, Yaba

2/4 Ikorodu Road, Jibowu, the natural choice for Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja and anywhere along Ikorodu Road.

Maza-Maza

No. 28 Old Ojo Road, Maza-Maza, on the Badagry Expressway side of the city. Board here if you live around FESTAC, Satellite Town, Alakija or Ojo.

With only two Ifesinachi terminals in Lagos, Lekki and Ajah passengers face a long early ride. Book the departure that gives you time to cross the city, not the earliest one.

Offices in the East, Abuja and the North

The addresses below are the ones Ifesinachi publishes.

Enugu, Nsukka and Obollo-Afor

The Enugu office is listed at No. 2 Okpala Avenue. Nsukka’s is at No. 2A Enugu Road, and Obollo-Afor’s is at the Ifesinachi Industries premises on New Road.

Onitsha

Two points, which the company labels Upper Iweka and Jos Line: the IFEPET filling station on the Onitsha-Asaba Expressway at Upper Iweka, and Port Harcourt Road by Izuchukwu Park.

Owerri and Aba

Owerri loads at Albon Modern Park on Egbu Road, beside Mbaise bank by Chukwuma Nwaoha Junction. Aba’s office is at No. 13 Milverton Avenue.

Abakaliki

No. 12 Afikpo Road, Abakaliki, the stop for Ebonyi passengers.

Utako, Abuja

The Ifesinachi Utako office is at No. 22E Ekukinam Street in Utako District, handy for Wuse, Jabi and the Central Business District.

Kaduna and Ibadan

Kaduna’s office is on Command Road, opposite Samrada filling station, and Ibadan’s is at Oremeji-Mokola, opposite Premier Hotel. Ask at either one which eastern towns have a direct bus.

Ifesinachi Online Booking and Paying Safely

The company says tickets can be booked from a computer or smartphone, and that one person can book for a whole group. In practice, many passengers still buy at the counter, which also lets them see the bus and agree on luggage before paying.

Whichever way you pay, use the official website for Ifesinachi online booking or buy at a branch. Be wary of social media pages or roadside agents asking for a transfer to a personal account, check that the account name on any transfer is the company’s, and keep your receipt.

The website shows no fares, so a branch is where you confirm the Ifesinachi Transport price list for your date. For phone contacts, use the branch details on Ifesinachi’s official website rather than numbers found on directory sites. The company says its branches receive passengers at any time of day.

Changing Plans: Refunds and Missed Buses

Ifesinachi publishes no refund or rescheduling policy online, so ask three things before you pay: whether the ticket can move to another date, whether cancelling attracts a charge, and how long the ticket stays valid. Note the answers on your receipt.

If you miss your bus, go straight to the counter with the ticket. A seat on a later departure is far easier to arrange on the same day than a refund a week later, especially in December.

Bags, Bulky Goods and IFEX Express

Ifesinachi does not publish a luggage allowance online. Plan on one main bag plus a small hand bag per passenger, and ask at the loading bay before you bring a carton, a cooler or a second suitcase, because extra space is usually charged.

For heavier goods, the group’s courier arm is IFEX Express. It was set up in 1998 under the Ifesinachi group, Emeka Mamah chairs it, and it moves light and heavy parcels across Nigeria through its own network. Charges are set by IFEX, not taken from the Ifesinachi Transport price list for seats, so ask at an IFEX office or at the terminal which desk handles your parcel.

Ghana, Togo and Benin Republic

Ifesinachi does not run to Ghana, Togo or Benin Republic. Every office on its website is inside Nigeria, and no cross-border service appears in its listings.

For the West African coast, you need an operator that crosses at Seme, such as ABC Transport or GIGM. Our guide to the total cost to travel from Nigeria to Ghana compares the road trip with flying and lists the documents you need.

Travelling in the Christmas Rush

The busiest stretch runs from mid-December into early January, when Lagos families head home to the East. Fares on the Ifesinachi Transport price list climb by several thousand naira, and the best departure times sell out first. Easter is the second peak.

  • Book a week or more ahead for Christmas travel, and pay only through official channels.
  • Arrive early. Loading at the eastern terminals is slow when every bus is full of gifts and foodstuff.
  • Have a fallback. If Ifesinachi is full, compare the Peace Mass Transit price list, which covers Nsukka, Obollo-Afor and Abakaliki from its own Lagos terminals.

If you plan a few days in the coal city after arrival, our list of hotels in Enugu with prices can help you choose where to stay.
