Cross Country Transport Price List: Fares, Lagos Terminals, Accra Buses and Parcels (2026)

Cross Country Transport price list

Cross Country is one of the few Nigerian coach companies that can sell you a bed as well as a seat. Its head office at 345 Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba, opposite the Presbyterian Church and beside a Conoil filling station, holds a passenger terminal, the parcel desk and the Cross Country Transit Hotel, so an early-morning traveller can sleep a short walk from the loading bay.

The company does not post one fixed fare sheet, which means any Cross Country transport price list is really a set of ranges that shift with petrol prices, the route and the season. The figures below are approximate, and the counter or the company website will always have the final word.

The Company Behind the Buses

Company profiles give Cross Country Limited’s incorporation as May 2001, with intercity and city services starting in December 2002 on a fleet of 132 vehicles. It has since grown into a network that it describes as covering all six geopolitical zones, plus terminals in Ghana and Benin Republic, with more than 26 destinations in total.

Passenger buses are only part of the business. The same terminals handle courier deliveries, local and interstate haulage, waybills for goods and bus rental, and some carry cargo in both commercial and private vehicles. The company has also described a breakdown routine in which the driver reports to its care centre, which arranges the nearest mechanic. Parcel and haulage charges are worked out separately from seats, so they do not appear on the Cross Country transport price list below.

Cross Country Transport Price List by Route

Most Cross Country trips are sold as a single air-conditioned bus class. If a terminal offers a different vehicle on your date, ask for that fare separately rather than assuming it matches the table.

Route from LagosApproximate one-way fareWhat to know
Abuja (Utako or Kubwa)₦40,000 to ₦55,000Busiest Cross Country northbound route
Kaduna, Jos, Kano, Lafia₦45,000 to ₦60,000Long days; ask about overnight stops
Onitsha, Asaba, Owerri, Enugu₦32,000 to ₦45,000Asaba is usually the cheapest of these
Port Harcourt₦35,000 to ₦50,000Arrives at Waterline Junction
Calabar, Uyo, Eket, Ikom, Ogoja₦40,000 to ₦55,000Cross River runs are among the longest in the south
Cotonou and AccraQuoted at the terminalVaries more than domestic routes

Two things move every line of this Cross Country transport price list. The first is fuel: when petrol prices jumped, interstate fares across the industry rose quickly. The second is the calendar, with December, Easter and both Sallah holidays pushing seats up.

If Abuja is your main concern, our full Lagos to Abuja bus price guide compares Cross Country with GIGM and ABC on that corridor, including the Lokoja road and the best Abuja drop-off points.

Cross Country Terminals in Lagos

Cross Country terminals in Lagos are spread across the mainland and the Lekki corridor, so you rarely need to cross the city at dawn to catch a bus. The locations below are the ones the company lists; check the terminal printed on your ticket before a first trip from any of them.

Yaba Head Office Terminal

345 Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba, opposite the Presbyterian Church and beside Conoil. This is the main ticketing point, the parcel desk and the site of the transit hotel, and it serves Abuja and northern passengers directly.

Jibowu Terminal

On Ikorodu Road at Jibowu. It handles air-conditioned buses heading for the north and the east, and the location suits travellers from Surulere, Ikeja and Ikorodu Road.

Maza-Maza Terminal

On the Badagry Expressway by the FESTAC gate. Use it if you live in FESTAC, Amuwo-Odofin, Satellite Town or anywhere along the Badagry road.

Cele (Isolo) Terminal

On Okota Road by the Cele bus stop, Isolo. Handy for Okota, Ijesha and Ago Palace Way.

Ikotun Terminal

On Ikotun-Egbe Road in Ikotun. Good for Ikotun, Igando, Egbe and Idimu.

Ajah Terminals

Cross Country lists two Ajah points: Ajah 1 at Ikota Shopping Plaza, and Ajah 2 after the Abraham Adesanya roundabout on the Lekki-Epe Expressway. Check which one is printed on your ticket, because they are not next to each other.

Where the Network Reaches Beyond Lagos

Utako, Abuja

In the Utako district. This is the stop for the central districts, and Cross Country Lagos to Abuja buses usually call here.

Kubwa, Abuja

In Kubwa. Better for passengers living along the Kubwa Expressway.

Outside the FCT, the company lists these terminals:

  • North: Kaduna, Kano, Jos, Lafia, Bauchi, Maiduguri and Sokoto.
  • South-West: Ibadan and Abeokuta.
  • South-South and South-East: Port Harcourt (Waterline Junction), Calabar, Ikom, Ogoja, Uyo, Eket, Asaba and Ohafia.

The northern spread is what sets this operator apart. Few Lagos coach firms still list their own terminals in Bauchi, Maiduguri and Sokoto. Those far-north routes sit above every row of the Cross Country transport price list, and their fares are usually quoted only at the counter.

Cross Country Accra and Cotonou Services

Cross Country runs two terminals outside Nigeria, and the road to both leaves Lagos through the Seme border. A Cross Country Accra trip then crosses Benin and Togo, with further checks at Hillacondji and Aflao, so most of the extra time on this route is spent at borders rather than on the road.

Accra Terminal

At Kwame Nkrumah Circle (Circle), on Ring Road. Circle is one of Accra’s main transport hubs, so onward trotros and taxis are easy to find.

Cotonou Terminal

In the Akpakpa district, close to Cotonou’s huge Dantokpa market.

For either trip, carry your international passport and a valid yellow fever card, which Ghana checks on entry. If you do not have one, see how to get a yellow travel card in Nigeria before you book. International fares depend partly on costs in CFA francs and cedis, so they move more than the domestic rows in this Cross Country transport price list.

Cross Country Booking Options

Cross Country booking works through three channels:

  1. The company website, which takes one-way or return bookings. You pick the route and date, choose a departure and seat, enter passenger details and pay online, then keep the booking code for check-in.
  2. Any terminal counter, where you name your destination and departure time and pay by cash or POS.
  3. Terminal agents, who can tell you how to pay and where to collect the ticket.

The website fare for your date is the most reliable check on any line of the Cross Country transport price list. Book at least a day ahead for Abuja, Port Harcourt and the East, and several days ahead in December. For Accra or Cotonou, book as early as you can.

Luggage, Parcels and the Waybill Desk

The allowance usually quoted for Cross Country passengers is one standard-size travelling bag each. Extra pieces and bulky items are charged at the loading bay, and the amount depends on size and route, so ask before the bag goes into the boot and keep the tag. These charges are not part of the Cross Country transport price list for seats.

For goods you are not travelling with, use the waybill desk at Yaba or your nearest terminal. The company carries parcels and haulage loads locally, between states and to its West African terminals. Ask for a written waybill with the receiver’s name and phone number, and have the receiver bring ID to the destination terminal.

The Cross Country Transit Hotel

The Cross Country Transit Hotel sits within the Yaba head office complex and has its own restaurant. It is aimed at passengers who arrive late from another city, or who want to sleep near the bay before a dawn departure north. Room rates are not part of the Cross Country transport price list and are not published online, so call the head office for the current price and to reserve.

What Can Catch You Out

  • Overnight stops on long northern runs. Buses going beyond Abuja can stop overnight or arrive after dark, so ask before you pay whether the bus overnights and where.
  • Two Ajah addresses. Ajah 1 and Ajah 2 are different sites, as noted above.
  • Old details in directories. Terminal addresses and phone numbers vary between online listings. Use the contact details on the company’s own website.
  • Prices from old lists. A Cross Country transport price list printed a few years ago can be less than half of what you will pay at the counter, so ignore any fare that looks too cheap.

How Cross Country Compares With ABC and GIGM

GIGM has the larger app-based network and frequent Abuja departures, while ABC is strong on luxury Sprinter services to the East and its own West Africa services, which leave Jibowu at about 6:45 a.m. for Accra, Lomé and Cotonou. Our ABC Transport price list shows how its routes and terminals line up against this one.

Cross Country’s edge is coverage of the far north and Nasarawa, its many small Lagos terminals, and the hotel at Yaba. On the busiest corridors, its fares tend to sit in the same band as the bigger names, so compare the Cross Country transport price list with a rival’s quote on your date before deciding.

Questions People Ask About Cross Country

Does Cross Country Publish a Fixed Price List?

No. Fares are set per route and change with fuel prices and season, so the Cross Country transport price list above is a guide to approximate ranges only. Confirm the exact fare on the website or at a terminal.

Where Is the Cross Country Head Office?

At 345 Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba, Lagos, opposite the Presbyterian Church and beside a Conoil filling station.

Can I Send a Parcel Without Travelling?

Yes. Take the item to the waybill desk at Yaba or any terminal, pay the charge, and give the receiver’s details. The receiver collects it at the destination terminal with ID.

Does Cross Country Go to Ghana?

Yes. It runs to Accra, with a terminal at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, and to Cotonou in Benin Republic.

Which Lagos Terminal Is Best for the Abuja Bus?

Yaba and Jibowu are the main points for northern departures. Passengers on the Lekki side can check whether their date has an Abuja seat from Ajah before crossing to the mainland.

Cross Country rewards travellers who plan a little: pick the terminal nearest your home, check the Cross Country transport price list against the counter fare on the day, and for anything beyond Abuja, ask how the driver plans to break the journey.
